Costa Rica after the fact...

Well friends, we made it back from Costa Rica and it was amazing. My job down there was to spot the birds and color commentary (this means I was capturing scenery and other fun things that happened).  I am sad to say that even though I did an amazing job memorizing the birds and images on all of my flash cards, once I got into the field it was VERY hard to actually find and see the birds in the field. They were either buried in the greenery, in bad lighting, or females (I didn't study those!)
Some cows passed by as we were in the farm fields looking for the quetzals. What was neat about this trip is part of the money we paid for it went to this farmer to encourage him to keep the gorgeous trees and habitat for the quetzals. Don't know what a quetzal looks like - Resplendent Quetzal

Out in the field looking for the Resplendent Quetzal - no mature males with the long tails, but females and juveniles. Still pretty amazing!

More to come later!  I have some amazing hummingbird photos to share and a cute green baslisk!

Reading Challenge

I've been doing a bunch of great "teacher reading" for the new school year and relaxing with my audio books downloaded from the library. I've gone through seven so far!! I listen while I clean, drive, and walk the dogs.

Let me know what you are reading throughout the summer and I am going to enter all the names into a drawing for some back-to-school gift certificates!!

Here's what I have been reading. Be prepared for some big changes this year! It's going to be an incredible adventure!!

Good morning friends,

I hope you are enjoying your summer so far and that everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July. Thankfully Annie and Gable, my greyhounds, did not get too upset by the local fireworks!

It's getting close to the big Costa Rica adventure but I wanted to share an adventure that was a little bit closer to home first. I tackled my very cluttered and messy garage - all my fault!

It was actually far less painful than I thought it would be. However, it did take me over 5 hours!

What adventures have you been on so far this summer? Remember adventures come in all shapes and sizes.

Stay tuned as I attempt to tackle the weeds in my horribly overgrown perennial gardens! Yes, I am totally putting this off because it is going to be horrible!

Greetings friends! I can't believe our school year is almost over! It has been quite the ride this year.

I am so excited for our Breakout with the parents this Wednesday and Friday. It is going to be so interesting to see the parents trying to figure out your clues.

Hope you all have some exciting plans for this summer! I can't wait to take you along with me to Costa Rica this summer for birds, birds, and more birds! Plus all of the amazing scenery. I will be reloading Duolingo onto my iPad to brush up a bit on my not so great Spanish!
